I don’t often review chains but when I learned that Patxi’s Pizza was opening a branch in Greenbrae, I wanted to review it because no other pizzeria in the county makes Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas.
Patxi’s Pizza makes going out for pizza a revolutionary dining experience. The restaurant is not your regular pizza joint; it is pleasant and spacious, with modern understated décor, and it is the perfect place to bring a family or a bunch of friends for a meal.
On Sunday, September 20, Westword will host DISH, its 21st annual celebration of the Denver dining and drinking scene. More than forty favorite restaurants of Westword food writers and readers will be offering samples of delectable dishes at DISH; crowd-pleaser Patxi’s Pizza will return, bringing meatballs and deep-dish pizza.

The 16th outpost of Patxi’s Pizza made its Marin debut in early August, and in many ways seems a perfect fit for South Marin’s well-heeled young families and executive types. Patxi’s (pronounced ‘pah-cheese’) comes from one of the two owners, Francisco “Patxi” Azpiroz, who founded the popular pizza chain in 2004.
